PHOTOPNEUMATIC (PPx) PORE-CLEANSING ACNE TREATMENT™ TIP

                                                                                                                                               
Chevy Chase, MD- Dr. Phillip Schoenfeld, Medical Director, Renu Med Spa, is introducing the new Photopnuematic (PPx) Pore-Clensing Acne-Treatment Tip on November 30, 2006.

Photopneumatic Therapy is the world’s first advanced acne therapy that combines the dual power of pneumatics with the proven therapeutic qualities of selected filtered broadband light (laser) to painlessly treat the broadest types of acne.  The PPx tips are designed especially for acne treatments and have shown remarkable results.  Traditional acne therapies can be effective, but take several months.  The PPx clears comedonal and inflammatory acne within one to three treatments, over a two to three week period.  Acne is perhaps the most common of skin disease; 85% of people between the ages of 12 and 24 suffer from acne while 20% of all adults suffer from active acne.  Typical acne treatment options have included over the counter topicals, medications, and laser treatments.  What makes PPx so revolutionary is that the tip applies negative pressure directly to the infected area and this lifts the sebaceous gland bringing it closer to the skin’s surface.  When the vacuum is applied, the elevated sebaceous gland is inverted and opened up, emptying it of acne causing bacteria, sebum and other impurities including dead skin cells. The phtopneumatic laser uses a lower band of light, which allows for better (and pain free) absorption.  Results are immediate.  Dr. Schoenfeld feels, quote,
